Elvish Yadav arrested: A case under the Wildlife Act was registered against Elvish Yadav and five others in Noida for arranging snake poisoning at a rave party last year.
Bigg Boss OTT winner Elvish Yadav arrested in snake venom-rave party case after Noida police interrogation Mr. Yadav has now been sent to 14-day judicial custody.
A case under the Wildlife Act was filed against him and five others in Noida last year for arranging snake venom for use as a recreational drug at a rave party.
Police raided a banquet hall in Noida’s Sector 51 on November 3 last year, arrested five people, including four snake charmers, and recovered nine snakes and venom. Besides, the Rave Party alleged that Mr. Yadav also used snakes for video shoots. The popular YouTuber has several videos featuring snakes on his channel.
How Was Snake Venom-Rave Party Gang Busted?
After watching Elvis Yadav’s video, the animal rights group PFA (People for Animals) led by BJP leader Maneka Gandhi called him anonymously. They asked him to give the snakes and poison them. A 26-year-old gave Rahul’s number and asked them to attend the Sector 51 banquet. The PFA team found four snake ministries — Jayakaran, Titunath, Narayan, and Rabinath — containing five cobras and nine snakes with 20 ml of snake venom. Soon a team from Noida Police and Forest Department was called and everyone was arrested.
Elvish Yadav Denies All Charges
Mr Yadav, who has been questioned by the police in the past, has denied any involvement in the case. “Baseless, bogus, and not even one percent true,” he said. The police had earlier said that he was not present at the party hall and were probing his role in the entire case. Maneka Gandhi, however, accused Mr. Yadav of being involved in the illegal sale of snake venom and demanded his immediate arrest. “He (Elvish Yadav) is absconding for now but his arrest must happen,” Ms Gandhi told reporters.
PFA officer was threatened
People for Animals (PFA) had exposed the rave party involving snake venom. An official of the same organization had filed another complaint against Elvish last week. The allegation was that the YouTuber was threatening him. He is also accused of a music video in which he is seen playing with snakes, which included rare snakes.
