Ram Charan project is raining in India. After a few days, “RRR” star Ram Charan’s 16th film was unveiled. Now, the team for his 17th has been revealed.
“Pushpa” director Sukumar will direct Ram Charan‘s 17th film. Director, Mithri Movie Makers, and composer Devi Sree Prasad are teaming up again after the 2018 blockbuster hit “Rangasthanalam”. The project is currently identified as “RC17”. While plot details are yet to be revealed, production is slated to begin later this year and the film will release in the last quarter of 2025.
SS Rajamouli’s “RRR,” starring Charan and NTR Jr., won an Oscar and a Golden Globe. Charan’s next release will be “Game Changer“, S. Directed by Shankar, with whom Kamal Haasan starrer “Indian 2” is in the works.
‘RRR’ Star Ram Charan Sets Film Project
Charan’s 16th film, identified as “RC16”, is produced by Venkata Sathish Kilaru Vukti Cinema and presented by Mithri Movie Makers and Sukumar through his Sukumar script. Janhvi Kapoor (“Millie”) will star alongside Charan. Music will be composed by Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman (“Slumdog Millionaire”). Chandrabose, who penned the Oscar and Golden Globe-winning song “Natu Natu” in “RRR”, will pen the song. Cinematography done by R. Rathnavelu (“Rangasthanalam”), edited by Anthony L Reuben (“Jawan”), and action choreographed by Supreme Sundar (“Animals”). The crew includes art director Avinash Kolla (“Major”) and costume designer Deepali Noor (“Pushp“).
Sukumar’s 2021 blockbuster film Pushpa: The Rise — Part 1, starring Allu Arjun, was also produced by Mithri Movie Makers. It traces the rise of Pushpa Raj (Arjun), a laborer who rises through the ranks of a red sandalwood smuggling syndicate and faces off against an arrogant police officer. The Telugu language film was also dubbed into other Indian languages and became India’s biggest box office hit of 2021. Arjun won the Indian National Film Award for Best Actor for the film.
The sequel, “Pushp 2: The Rule” is in production and is slated to release this year. “You can expect a third part, we want to make it a franchise and we have exciting ideas for the lineup,” Arjun told Variety.
