Along with his wife Latha, daughters Aishwarya and Soundarya, and grandchildren, superstar Rajinikanth celebrated Holi in 2024. Their Poes Garden house in Chennai was the venue for their Holi celebration. Since it was on this day that veteran director K Balachander rechristened Shivaji Rao Gaikwad as Rajinikanth, the actor who made his acting debut with ‘Apoorva Ragangal’ in 1975, Holi holds particular significance for Rajinikanth’s family. Aishwarya posted a picture from the festivities and said that, on this particular day, she missed her grandfather, or Balachander in English.

Additionally, Soundarya Rajinikanth posted a photo from their party. Latha Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rajinikanth are pictured with Soundarya, her husband Vishagan, and their boys Ved and Veer posing for the camera.
“Happy Holi (sic),” she wrote as the photo’s caption, using heart and embrace emojis.
Shivaji Rao Gaikwad was Rajinikanth’s birth name in Bengaluru. He moved to Chennai to follow his passion for performing after working as a conductor in Bengaluru. He debuted in the 1975 film “Apoorva Ragangal” directed by K Balachander, in which he co-starred with Kamal Haasan. Rajinikanth developed into a powerful force in Indian film throughout time. He is currently among the nation’s most renowned actors.
Regarding his career, Rajinikanth most recently starred in “Jailer,” a film directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. Worldwide, the movie brought in more than Rs 600 crore. He is currently filming “Vettaiyan,” directed by TJ Gnanavel, which is scheduled for theatre release later this year. The film, which has a strong message, is almost finished.
Rajinikanth will start filming “Thalaivar 171,” directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, following “Vettaiyan.” June is when the movie is supposed to start production.
