Munawar Farooqui, standup comedian and ‘Bigg Boss 17‘ winner, recently opened up about the egg-throwing incident during an Iftar gathering. It was earlier reported that a restaurant and its five staff members threw eggs at Munawar, after which he got angry and walked out of the gathering.
During a recent Instagram Live session, Munawar Faruqui clarified what happened on April 10. He said, “There was a fight between two shopkeepers and I was relieved to see them fight. Who would beat one of their own? I am fine, an uncle and a police officer threw eggs at me, there is a lot of jealousy among these shopkeepers, but if someone has his own They are jealous of each other but not competitors.”
A news portal reported that the standup comedian was on Mumbai’s Mohammed Ali Road when a restaurant owner and his staff pelted him with eggs. Reports said that the Paidhani police have registered a case against six people involved.
After the incident, the video went viral on social media. In the video, a visibly angry Munawar is being escorted to his car by his security personnel, as a large crowd gathers around him.
Munawar was arrested last month in a raid on a hookah bar in Mumbai. He was released after the case.
Munawar won ‘Bigg Boss 17’ in January 2024 The comedian defeated Abhishek Kumar, Mannara Chopra, Ankita Lokhande, and Arun Mashette in the reality show hosted by Salman Khan.
